Pilates & Strength Training
Strength Training / Power Walk Classes (30 minutes of each)
These classes involve resistance training using weights or resistance bands, immediately followed by a 30 or 40 minute power walk outdoors. These classes are aimed at body toning, cardiovascular fitness, and assist in the prevention of osteoporosis.
Research has shown that from about 40 years of age most women lose 250g of muscle and gain 250g of fat every year. Flexibility and balance also gradually decline. These natural ageing effects can be counteracted by regular strength training and stretching.
