Pilates Classes (Max 10 people)
Floor classes incorporate a range of Pilates exercises using small equipment. They include strength training, stretching and relaxation. Hence, each class is a carefully designed whole body program.
Participants usually require an individual session with the Physiotherapist involving assessment of their individual needs and the teaching of the fundamental aspects of Pilates.
Strength Training / Power Walk Classes (30 minutes of each)
These classes involve resistance training using weights or resistance bands, immediately followed by a 30 or 40 minute power walk outdoors. These classes are aimed at body toning, cardiovascular fitness, and assist in the prevention of osteoporosis.
Benefits
Research has shown that from about 40 years of age most women lose 250g of muscle and gain 250g of fat every year. Flexibility and balance also gradually decline. These natural ageing effects can be counteracted by regular strength training and stretching.
General Information
All classes are run by specially qualified Physiotherapists.
Bookings are essential for all classes and treatments.
A Private Health Fund rebate applies to all classes and individual sessions. Some can be immediately claimed electronically.
